Maitland Grossmann High School - Careers

We live in a time of rapid economic and social change and these changes impact on  schools and students. Maitland Grossmann High School’s Career Education Program aims to prepare students to manage these transitions and contribute effectively and responsibly to their own and other’s social and economic wellbeing. In order to do this, the school relies on the understanding, support and involvement of parents and employers.

Hunter Valley Youth Express will coordinate, with the assistance of the Careers Department, Career Quest for Year 9 students on Wednesday 9 June.
Students will participate in a program of activities designed to develop an understanding of a range of career issues. These will include: Appropriate dress in the workplace, Tax File Numbers, Resumes, Job Interviews and Financial literacy. Group leaders have been invited from various employer and industry groups.

A university roadshow has helped Year 12 Maitland Grossmann High students to start thinking about tertiary study options. Southern Cross University, Charles Sturt University and the University of New England jointly provided the students with information about university life, accommodation, text books and paying for courses. The roadshow visited Maitland Grossmann High School, Maitland High School and Francis Greenway High School students on Thursday on a tour around parts on NSW.
