Homework and Tasks - Consistency is the key!

  • Remember that your first Assessment task will be in the second half of Term 4. It is worth a large% of your final HSC assessment mark ! So make sure you read the dot points and prepare for it ! Use your text book and the OTEN notes which can be accessed in the Documents section of this web page.

  • Open up the OTEN notes for Maintaining a Balance, read through them and make sure that you understand what you have done in class so far. If not, then see your teacher! Try the questions that are in this unit, you should be able to answer them.

  • In the holidays you might like to forge ahead and look at work for the next topic ! Remember the more you read the easier it will be to understand ! And the better you will do in assessment tasks. Good luck !

HSC Biologyproff. Frink

We currently have two HSC Biology classes, both taught by Ms Brown. Biology is a great subject for students to take as it really helps students understand how their bodies function and respond to their environment, why they have the characteristics they do and how they manage to look after themselves and prevent or fight disease. So if you want to learn all about yourself, then Biology is the way to go!

The three main core topics for the HSC Biology course include;

*        Maintaining a Balance – which is all about how animals respond to their environment and continue to function if it changes

*        The Blueprint of Life – which is all about genetics, inheritance, evolution, and ways we can manipulate genetics to get what we want!

*        Search For Better Health – which is all about disease, what it is, what causes it and how our bodies have fine tuned themselves to effectively fight off nasty little microscopic invaders.

The option topic that we currently do at MGHS is

                             * Biotechnology – which is all about how we can use biology to make

                                our lives easier.

From time to time various links will be added to this site, including assessment notification, research tasks etc, so check back regularly!
