About Food Technology at MGHSFood Technology is studied as an elective in Stage 5 and Stage 6.Students are provided with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of food and the impact it has on society. They are given practical experiences in the classroom using a range of modern technologies. Excursions to food shows, restaurants and food production plants are included to further enhance their learning.Topics covered include:· Food systems in the production, processing and consumption of food.· The nature of food and human nutrition.· Cultural influences.· The Australian Food Industry.· Food for Special Occasions· Food in Australia.· Food Service and Catering.
