About Textiles Technology at MGHSTextiles Technology is an elective studied in Years 9 and 10. The course enables students to develop skills in designing, producing and evaluating quality products in a range of focus areas which include: Apparel, Costume, Textile Art and Furnishings. Knowledge and understanding is gained in the Properties and Performance of Textiles, Methods of Fabric Colouration and the Historical and Cultural influence on contemporary designs, enabling students to make informed decisions when selecting and manipulating textile materials. Excursions to Craft Fairs, The Powerhouse Museum, Theatre productions, Texstyle and other exhibitions complement the students learning experiences.
